It's entirely possible.

I started out a new account completely from scratch last month and I managed to earn my 30/50 HoM points in 32 days with less than 150 hours played. I didn't have any friends or a guild to help me. I don't really consider myself a spectacular Guild Wars player. By several peoples standards, I'm a complete noob too because I need to follow the Wiki step by step and I can't come up with a build to save my life.

My first piece of advice would be for you to completely disregard post #15. It takes a ton of time, 290 plat, and it doesn't even give you a single point. For 290 plat, I could get you about 11 points compared to the 0.8 points Legendary Skill Hunter gives.

Anyway I have a rough estimation of how much it costs for each point at post #13 of this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/c...t10454341.html

If you don't mind posting your IGN (so I can check your HoM titles) and telling me how much platinium you have, I could help you plan out the cheapest and fastest route to 22 points (and maybe up to 30).

Good luck.

Sorry, I'm thinking in terms of pure titles. Skill Hunter does not give 4 HoM points, only 4/5 titles for a single point.

And I have more than one character to indulge with armour sets.

fair enough. But from the start of GW it has always been my goal to cap every elite rather than using tomes.

I'm not the original poster, but I have been steadily working on the same thing and would greatly appreciate any advice =)

IGN: Wolf Paq

My goal is 25. As soon as I hit it I intend to stop playing for points (although I will likely continue to play as the game is fun).

Definitely go for the 3 points in Valor. You should be able to craft a Destroyer Weapon for about 40 - 50k as long as you've finished the EotN questline. That will net you 2 points. After that go for the War in Kryta questline. Finishing it alone will give you 7 medals and a couple of war supplies. If you take the bounty quests in hard mode, you should have at least 75 war supplies which you can trade for 3 medals. 3 medals can be traded for 1 Oppressor weapon which will give you 1 more point.

The next 4 most cost-worthy points probably come from Resillence. Get 2 more EotN armors which cost 40k each, and get a Luxon armor which costs about 100k. This will net you 4 more points for a total cost of 180k.

Alternatively you could choose to farm hero armors by yourself. However if you decide to buy hero armors, 15 of them will cost you 150k and net you 2 points, or 75k per point.

A unique minipet can also be bought for about 70k if you're lucky, or you could do the Black Moa Mini quest for 1 more point.

Primeval armors don't sell for 10k anymore.. Some powertrading retards still try to sell em for that, but I usually sell mine for anything over 6k..

True but doing this requires you to fight enemies so you will be getting drops, on a single skill cap you are going to get close to 1000 gold worth of drops so I would argue that skill capper is more or less a free title, so definitely do it.

Except you need time to do it, while crafting armor is almost instatenous. In that time you could be farming for gold instead at a faster rate.

Also there's the fact that Legendary Skill Hunter only adds 0.8 of a point for 290k, while 290k could get you 6 points from the Resillence monument.
